SOIK Corporation’s project has been selected as one of the 10 flagship projects under the Demonstration and Feasibility Study category of Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)’s Global South Co-Creation Initiative. The project is featured in the Japan–Global South Co-Creation Progress Report 2026.
The report provides an overview of 464 projects supported across 81 countries during FY2024–FY2025 and highlights selected projects that have achieved particularly significant progress.
SOIK’s project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), titled “Promoting and Commercializing Antenatal Care through an AI-Powered Digital Maternal and Child Health Platform,” is featured as one of these flagship cases.
The project has focused on establishing a community-based antenatal check-up system involving community volunteers, while also advancing the practical application of AI-assisted ultrasound technology. This technology is intended to enable midwives and nurses at health centers to perform ultrasound examinations, including in rural areas where access to medical resources is extremely limited.
SOIK will continue working to improve the quality of maternal care through digital technologies and strengthen maternal and child health services in communities with limited access to healthcare.
